PERKINS+WILLS: CELEBRATION OF DESIGN EXCELLENCE IN LOS ANGELES

Perkins+Wills is an architectural design firm in Los Angeles. It has designed some of LA’s most iconic buildings and they were celebrating their anniversary. I was commissioned to work on several banners that would hang in their offices for a year. I took their design principles and made a total of 13 panels. My inspiration was the LA freeways. I took the idea of the freeways as roadways of ideas and principles that make up what Perkins+Wills is. It was a fun project in that I got to research and use all my design know how. It was scary because I had to present to the partners at Perkins+Wills and unlike other clients I worked with, they knew and understood design in the same way I did. So there was no “bullshiting” them. The client was happy. I was happy.
